Father's Day

On Father's day, I do not just think of my dad, grandfathers, and Daniel's dad. I think of each child or adult who does not have a father. Daniel and I attended church today and we watched a short video about father's... Think Daniel and I have both wonderful dads but the video still made us tear up. 

What about the ones who saw the video who do not have father's? 

It is something that breaks my heart. 

Happy Father's Day, Dad! I love you and I will always be your number one.

Yesterday (June 14th), Daniel and I created a small sunflower raised bed. 

Today (June 16th), Daniel and I celebrate a happy two year relationship that will only continue to grow. Spending every waking moment with you has been more than wonderful. I know we will have our ups and downs but I only hope to learn from those downs to grow higher.

Tonight's Horror Flick 
Plot: A young man carrying a big basket that contains his deformed Siamese-twin brother seeks vengeance on the doctors who separated them against their will.

Daniel is a fan of these movies, yes these - there is two of them. I found it to be quite an interesting story yet I have not seen the second. 

It actually is very sad which is why it leads to the killing of the doctors. The boy and his brother grow together yet one of them is deformed but they can speak through each other through their minds.

N70 Film

Daniel found this Nikon N70 last Christmas for me and I have completely fell in love with it. 

We traveled to the keys a few days after Christmas to try this baby out.. It look amazing shots. I love the manual focus on this camera. It can be difficult when using a film camera to take photos because we are used to being able to take another picture if it doesn't turn out the way we wanted. 

Yet for me... I find it so exciting to develop the film and see what I took weeks later. It brings back the feeling when I was a little girl; my grandma always had a camera and we had pictures of every thing we ever did growing up. When I say "we" I mean all her grandchildren. She has albums and albums of us, all developed and printed by name. 

Having digital camera is awesome I must say.. Although I believe many people take it for granted. Like that one girl who says "OMG no delete the picture!" Or another "Can we take another? My hair was all messed up!" 

Come on people... This isn't the reason we own a camera? It's to see ourselves on how we looked - exactly - on that day, the fun we had and the smiles made! 

Get a film camera!

Walks and Talks

As you can see we live in a green area, surrounded by trees, wildlife and squirrels. We just bought Bella a maple red leather leash, which I was dying to tryout. 

Bella enjoyed a walk around the neighborhood as we talked and enjoyed the afternoon. I must say the afternoons are my favorite in Gainesville - once the sun begins to disappear the land begins to cool. Even when it rains in Gainesville, the streets begin to stem because the sun is heated here. 

In West Palm, the sun is warm but the breeze from the beach keeps you cool and boy did I think it was hot in West Palm! No way! 

Blessed

As I look around our home today, I just continue to see how blessed we have been through this whole journey. Our going away party was such a success, everyone who attended helped us create a "home" instead of just having a "house." 

We make coffee every morning, Daniel waters the lime tree and I enjoy watch on the small wooded deck while Bella runs around. We are planning on getting wood in the next week to begin the elevated garden which will be full of veggies and flowers. 

I hope to be able to use the veggies to begin to cook recipes. Since I have been raised Cuban, I am excited to cook tomorrow and try to add the oranges into the food. I say cook tomorrow because today we have a couple over to watch the Heat game.
